The first landmark

Kurumba, the Maldives’ first resort, opens on the uninhabited island of Vihamanaafushi. Guests stayed in a collection of huts on a beach and participated in scuba diving, snorkelling, coconut painting and palm leaf folding.

An icon is born

Baros Maldives opens its doors, offering rustic charm to European travellers seeking an idyllic escape. Just 28 sand-floored, thatched-roof cabanas dot the beach, creating a secluded haven.
