Programme one
Underwater ambassadors
The Maldives is a dream come true for divers and snorkellers. We believe that educating these enthusiasts helps create the best kind of environmentalists.
At every turn, we strive to share valuable knowledge and practical tips that help protect the carefully balanced marine environment. This allows us all to enjoy the magnificence of the underwater world and its intriguing inhabitants that much more.
Programme two
New coral groves
Coral is vital to the underwater ecosystem. It is the foundation of ocean life, which grows everything around it. Visitors can explore our coral gardens, learn how corals live and participate in our coral growth programme.
Guests can also sponsor their own Coral Frame, help see it planted, nurtured and transplanted into the seabed and then receive regular updates on growth and progress even when they’ve returned home.
Coral can take hundreds of years to grow and takes thousands, tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of years to take shape into reefs and atolls. Some individual corals can also live for thousands of years. Our aim is to encourage our guests to plant one as part of their Maldives journey.
Eco-enthusiasts can leave their mark on the sea by sponsoring a piece of coral. This unique opportunity allows them to nurture and watch their coral flourish and grow., contributing to the restoration of vibrant marine ecosystems while playing a personal role in protecting the ocean’s delicate biodiversity for future generations.
